Over its long history Barrow Farm has strived to continue to improve the facilities available to its riders and carriage drivers. Our excellent facilities now include:

A dedicated team of qualified coaches

Take a look at our Staff pages to learn more about our coaches. All our hold a minimum of RDA Group Coach certificate. Anne and Sally hold an assortment of equestrian coaching awards including British Horse Society qualifications as well as more specialised Riding for the Disabled Coaching certificates. Between them they have over 70 years of experience teaching disabled children and adults to ride.

Indoor and outdoor riding schools

The indoor riding school means that rides can take place in the dry and whereas the outdoor school can be enjoyed in the good weather. The indoor school has a viewing gallery for parents, carers and visitors to watch the rides in comfort and safety. The indoor riding school is also equipped with a kitchen and waiting area where a cup of tea can be enjoyed by the parents and riders. The waiting area, kitchen and toilets were all refurbished in 2016. Adaptations were made to ensure that all areas were wheelchair friendly, such as a lower work surface in part of the kitchen and two more fully accessible toilets.

Woodland walks

The availability of woodland walks right next to the riding school so our riders can experience the joy of riding out. Taking part in wild flower hunts, seeing the deer that live in the wood and just experiencing the great outdoors.
