On Sunday 27 October 2024 Barrow Farm hosted a training day for coaches and coaches in training from across Essex. The day was facilitated by Sally in her role as County Coach and Regional Showjumping representative and she was assisted by Isobel in her role as Regional Endurance representative. The aim of the day was to provide activity ideas that all groups within the county can use to have fun and create a sense of achievement with riders. Ideas included musical rides, doing endurance within an arena or riding school, doing level 1 and level 2 showjumping. We also discussed how we could use grade tests and Endeavour Awards within our groups too.
Our team of experienced coaches all like to give something back to the RDA community so that we are not just having an impact on our own riders but also those across the wider county and region. Feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive and hopefully all the participants left feeling inspired and excited with new ideas. Thanks to all the volunteers for ensuring the day ran smoothly and especially to coach Emily for preparing a range of videos demonstrating some of the activities that can be undertaken at the virtual championship.
