Hello everybody and welcome to my page, my name is Barney and I am a 12 hand black cob. I was born in 2018 and arrived at Barrow Farm in April 2024. If you would like to sponsor me, please go to the Sponsor a Pony page.
I used to live in Coggeshall, where I had been since I was 6 months old, so moving home was a big change for me. Prior to moving to Barrow Farm I hadn’t done lots of ridden work, I used to go for a hack once a week to the local village shops. My owner Jackie offered me to Barrow Farm on loan as she felt that I would do an amazing job as an RDA pony.
When I arrived at Barrow Farm I was in awe of everything, the staff took time to take me for lots of walks around all the paths through the woods and in the arenas. Everything was very new to me but being the brave pony I am I took it all in my stride. After spending some time completing all my initial training I started working in June 2024. As well as having riders I also do tea with a pony, which is one of my favourite times of the week, I love to rest my chin on the wall while having my head stroked.
When I’m not working you’ll find me either eating, sleeping in my stable or hanging out in the field with my friends Boycie and Murphy. Everybody on the yard says I am Murphy’s mini me, but I think I am much more handsome than him. I may be the smallest in the herd but I definitely think I’m the boss. You’ll often find me fast asleep in my stable once I have finished my morning hay, I love having a morning snooze (and sometimes an afternoon one too). It’s hard work playing with Boycie and Murphy all night so a sleep in my king size bed is a must.
I can’t wait to see what fun I will get up to in the next few years. If you would like to receive updates on what I’m up to (including pictures of my handsome self) then please feel free to sponsor me.
