    Sue Hook - Chairman

Sue is a secondary school teacher and was introduced to Barrow Farm by a student in year twelve who already volunteered. Sue has been a volunteer for over 20 years and for the last 5 years been a member of the trustee committee. Sue says of her involvement "I very much enjoy working with our young riders."

    James Kearney - Vice Chair

James became involved with Barrow Farm when his daughter started riding lessons four years ago. James joined the Committee so that he could become more involved in the work of Barrow Farm and help with fund raising. James says that "Riding at Barrow Farm has given my daughter so much pleasure and enjoyment, that I want to give something back by helping in any way I can."

    Linda Poole - Treasurer

Linda, is now the Treasurer for Barrow Farm. In her day job she has a Housing Consultancy Company and works with the Chartered Institute of Housing, other professional bodies, local authorities, and housing organisations. Since joining the Committee, she has used her expertise to help produce Barrow Farm’s Business Plan. As the Treasurer, she is now helping to implement it. Linda has had a love of horses ever since she can remember. She was put in touch with Barrow Farm by a friend whose son used to ride here. Linda mainly helps on Saturdays, but also during pony weeks and whenever she has any spare time.

    Jo Moss-Rowe

Jo is a retired Local Government Finance Officer and became involved with Barrow Farm through a riding club in the late 1970’s, which were the very early days of Barrow Farm. The Riding Club members used to help with fund-raising and assist as leaders and side-walkers. The Riding Club competed for many years in BHS Riding Clubs events, twice representing the area at national competition with Jet and other Barrow Farm ponies, who are sadly no longer with us. One of Jo’s early memories is of riding Thistle one of the original exmoors in a gymkhana - and coming 2nd!

Jo still volunteers on a Saturday afternoon and joined the committee a few years ago. If you want to know more about volunteering why not take a look at our How Can You Help Volunteering page. After all her years of involvement Jo says "I am happiest when the riders are enjoying themselves and having FUN."

    John James Adler MBE, JP

John has been involved with Barrow Farm for many years, introduced to Barrow Farm by a retired National Westminster Bank manager drumming up support and funds to repay the loan the group had at the time. John joined the groups Fund Raising Committee and later joined the Trustee Committee. John continues to be an active fund raiser and supporter. If you would like to support us why not take a look at our How Can You Help pages. John a great supporter of Barrow Farm says "there is no waste of money and every penny goes to the cause... of disabled riders benefitting from riding."

    Karen Lehner

Karen is a Community Paediatrician and has helped on Saturday afternoons since about 2002 and joined the Committee in 2005. In her role as Community Paediatrician Karen works with children with developmental and learning difficulties, so has many years experience of children with special needs. Karen also has a love of horses and has ridden since the age of 9. She tells us that is quite a few years ago now! Karen is also lucky enough to ride Molly about once a week, giving her a change from doing her riding for the disabled work. You can learn more about Molly on our Meet our Ponies page.

    Georges Sherman

Georges has been carriage driving at Barrow Farm for the last few years. Georges became involved on the Committee to give something back to Barrow Farm. He says of his involvement "When I started to carriage drive I realised how many helpers were needed to give the service that Barrow Farm provides... so I felt I wanted to give something back."

    Emma Harris

Emma is one of our riders and has been riding at Barrow Farm for over 10 years. Emma joined the Committee so that she could become more involved in the work of Barrow Farm and provide her valuable unique input into the running of the group.

Emma says of her Barrow Farm experience "Barrow Farm has given me so much I want to give something back."
